Bravo: Top Design Grand Central Subway takeover

Bravo • Role: Direction / Designer

Bravo sought to generate buzz for Top Design with an activation that broke through NYC’s saturated media environment. I led the creative direction and design for the network’s first-ever Grand Central subway platform takeover, transforming an everyday commuter space into an immersive brand destination.

Working in collaboration with design icon Jonathan Adler, I oversaw the development of large-scale graphics, environmental displays, and set pieces that brought the show’s aesthetic to life. The activation drove media coverage, including an on-site segment from Transit Transit News, and became an early example of how experiential design could amplify broadcast campaigns and generate viral attention in the pre-social era.

Strategic placement of the reconfigured poster art on the stairwell ensured maximum visibility for both ascending and descending commuters, reminding them of the show and its immersive presence. These bustling stairs adorned with playful Top Design elements, greeting commuters with a vibrant splash of color. But this wasn't just a poster; it was a portal, injecting unexpected delight into their daily grind. Smiles, photo ops, and shared surprises – this immersive experience proved design's power to transcend canvases and impact everyday lives.
